Amber Heard denies reports she was cut from Aquaman 2 | Entertainment

Amber Heard has denied rumors that her role was cut from Aquaman 2.

According to Just Jared, the 36-year-old actress was set to land her role in the remake of the sequel for $2 million (£1.7 million).

The message comes hours after Heard repeated her allegations of abusing ex-husband Johnny Depp, 58, despite being found guilty of defamation for accusing him of sexual assault.

But Heard’s team told Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday (6/14/22) that this is not true.

A spokesperson said: “The rumor mill continues as it has since day one – inaccurate, insensitive and slightly insane.”

Jared just revealed that Heard, who has already wrapped filming on the 2018 sci-fi sequel in which she starred alongside Jason Momoa, 42, and Nicole Kidman, 54, has been officially cut from the cast after Warner Bros. screened the film.

They are said to have been concerned about the reviews for the film, due for release in December, and concluded that the scenes with Heard should be re-shot with a different actress.

The website stated: “Warner Bros. decided to recast the role of Amber Heard after a screen test for the film, ”a source told the site.

“They’re going to do reshoots with Jason Momoa and Nicole Kidman.”

Near the end of the trial, an online petition was also launched demanding Heard’s removal from the sequel, which garnered nearly five million signatures in a matter of weeks.

During Heard and Depp’s bitter libel trial, Warner Bros. chief executive Walter Hamada, 54, testified that the producers were already considering re-qualifying the actress due to concerns about her lack of “natural chemistry” with Momoa.

He added that in court, the producers had to “fake” the connection between the actors.

Hamada also said that the announcement of Heard’s role in the sequel was delayed several weeks due to “talk of a remake”.

He said of Heard and Momoa on screen, “In the editorial they were able to make that relationship work in the movie.

“There was a fear that it would take a lot of effort to get there.”

Again heard her ex-husband Depp’s public accusation of physical abuse, which he categorically denies, during an interview for the Today show.

She insisted that she would “support every word of her testimony” until her death.

Hurd also accused jurors in the trial that her ex-husband, the Pirates of the Caribbean star, cheated on her because he was a “fantastic actor” – after Depp’s lawyer accused the defendant of being staged a “spectacle” during her testimony.
