The Hyatt Group intends to introduce the new brand to Europe with the expected opening of the Thompson Madrid hotel in the middle of the year. This brand with luxury and lifestyle positioningAcquired by an American hotel owner as part of the Two Roads Hospitality takeover in 2018, it has about twenty hotels in the US and Mexico and is beginning its international expansion through the Spanish capital.
Located in the heart of Madrid, just steps from the Puerta del Sol and Gran Via, this hotel is thoughtfully designed and has a sophisticated ambience to appeal to both business and leisure travellers. 175 rooms, most with balconies or terraces overlooking the city. Among them are 23 suites, including a penthouse on two floors.
In line with the lifestyle trend, Thompson Madrid will offer lively bars and restaurants designed in collaboration with Grupo La Ancha, a restaurant player founded in the early 20th century and known in particular for its Fismuler restaurant in Madrid. As part of Thompson Madrid, this three trendy places with in particular a bar in the “speak-easy” style, but above all a bar and a restaurant on the roof terrace of the hotel. BUT roof obviously with a view but also adorned with an outdoor pool. An open-air courtyard completes the hotel offer, as well as event spaces. The American group’s third hotel in Madrid, Thompson, joins the Hyatt Centric Gran Via and Hyatt Regency Hesperia already on offer in the Spanish capital.
