STERLING – This year’s Inspiration: Art and Nature festival will take place on Saturday, June 4th and Sunday, June 5th. The Friends of Sterling Nature Center will celebrate its 25th anniversary and the construction of a new interpretive center.

Saturday’s event from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm will include a photo exhibition highlighting the property’s history, a Herbarium dedication in honor of longtime board member Don Cox, and tours of the construction project. However, the focus will be on the noon reception, which will give community members and officials a chance to remember the progress from the early fight against the proposed nuclear plant to a thriving county park and nature center that attracts thousands of visitors every day. year.
The Sunday program from 11:00 to 16:00 will be reminiscent of the traditional “Inspiration” with music, arts and crafts, and children’s activities. This year’s entertainment attracts local musicians who have long supported the center. Jeff Sawyer and his friends will head the music playlist from rock to jazz and old favorites. Local dulcimer minter Dan Duggan will return with longtime collaborator Dan Berggren. Sterling’s ukuladi sounds are new this year.
