KATHMANDU, June 26: Former prime minister and chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal accused the state of neglecting the tourism sector. He made the announcement while speaking at a medal fitting and handover program organized by the Nepal Mountaineering Association on Friday.
Stating that the tourism sector has a significant role to play in resolving the economic crisis in the country, Dahal said the role of the state has not been satisfactory to amend, change and promote laws in the sector. “The tourism sector will never be empty and will never end. The more you spend on the tourism sector, the more it grows in contrast to other sectors,” he said.
Similarly, he mentioned that the role of his facilitator was significant in complex issues related to procedures and the new committee in the tourism sector. He said the sector has also helped in the campaign for social change.
Similarly, Chairman Dahal also said that he was dissatisfied with the work done in the development and promotion of the tourism sector when he was prime minister and pointed out the need to take the country seriously and delicately now. Stating that the role of the state is still weak, he personally expressed his readiness to come up with government initiatives on the issue of tourism.
