Sioux Falls School District and Pepper Entertainment resonate with new partnership to promote music in schools

Beginning in fall 2022, students in all four public high schools will benefit from the new partnership. For the first time in recent history, the District is offering guitar lessons as part of its fine arts program. A new course was announced this spring and currently enrolls 145 students. Dr. Jane Stavem, Superintendent, will talk about the new program and welcome Pepper Entertainment as a partner during the School Board Meeting on Monday, June 13, 2020 at 5:30 PM at the Learning Planning Center, 201 E. 38th St.

Pepper Entertainment steps in to add sustainability and some glory to the course. Together with its newly formed national foundation, Pepper will donate $1 per ticket sold for all Sioux Falls shows promoted through 2023.

President and CEO Jered Johnson said, “I have always wanted to create a philanthropic component of the Pepper brand. By visiting Sioux Falls Public Schools, I am honored to be a part of the program and help children fulfill their musical dreams.”

In addition, Pepper Entertainment will work to ensure that professional musicians who are based in Sioux Falls visit the school for their performances. Local musicians, including Corey Van Sickle of Kory & the Fireflies, will also work with students who will meet, learn and jam with artists from all musical genres. The goal is to expose students to real world applications of their courses and encourage them to explore future career paths in the music industry. From marketing to music mixing, stage design and lighting, the music industry depends on professionals from other industries to create the ultimate concert experience.

Lincoln High School student and musician Jack Simpson will showcase his guitar talents at the announcement of a new partnership.
