Pasay Tourism Advocates Form Alliance to Advance Business and Urban Tourism

The Pasay City Tourism Advocates Alliance, or PCATA, was formally launched on June 1 last year with the inauguration of its Board of Directors at Citadines Bay City Manila, under the direction of National Capital Region Tourism Department Regional Director Charlene Zabala-Batin.

The new officers include Mr. Michael Albanya of Hotel Conrad as President, Ms. Gel Gomez of Hotel 101 Group as Vice President, Ms. Magdalena Tolosa of Selah Garden Hotel as General Secretary, Ms. Geraldine Gough of the Heritage Hotel. as its treasurer, and Ms. Joanne Golong-Gomez of Hilton Manila as PRO.

Other officers include: Ms. Hanilin Tan of Citadines Bay City Manila as Director of Membership, Ms. Cynthia Esteban of Sofitel Manila as Director of Education, Ms. Cristina Carreon of Marriott Hotel as Director of Programs, Mrs. – Ms. Diwata Topia from Kabayan. Hotel as Director of Ways & Means and Mr. Veni Maligaya of Holiday Inn Express Manila as Trustee.

“We are proud of the achievements of PCATA and its members. PCATA began during a pandemic that involved Pasay City hotels working closely with LGU Pasay City and Mayor Amy to come together and collectively help each other and the Pasay community,” explains PCATA President and Conrad Manila Chief Commercial Officer Michael Albanya.

Romulo-Puyat, Secretary of Tourism of Bern, congratulated the newly minted officers. “We welcome the creation of PCATA,” she said. “Pasay has seen massive development in recent years and we have seen several world-class hotels and MICE facilities pop up in the city. This, in turn, has created numerous opportunities for the tourism sector and related industries in the city of Pasay. DOT looks forward to a fruitful collaboration with PCATA in the coming years,” she said enthusiastically.

Pasay City Mayor Imelda Calixto Rubiano thanks the group for taking on the challenge and playing their part in reviving tourism in the city. “I am delighted that PCATA is overcoming challenges and making its mark on the travel industry. Your group, from a few to over 30 strong members, has demonstrated perseverance and effective collaboration. We have high hopes for our hospitality industry,” the Mayor said.
