New data: 10 best places in the US to visit this summer

With the onset of summer, travel plans also change. From coast to coast, travelers go on family vacations, couples vacations, multi-generation trips and more. And after two long years of the coronavirus pandemic, it’s nice to be in flight.

To help with travel planning, personal finance website WalletHub recently released its Best Summer Travel Destinations 2022 list, a list of urban areas across the country that rank top for economy, activities, weather, and COVID. -19 boxes (also known as ideal places to relax).

Here we take a look at the top 10 places in the US that are ideal for travel this summer, according to WalletHub. And for more recreation, check out the top 10 national parks to have on your bucket list.


Ranked 10th on WalletHub’s list, San Antonio won’t disappoint travelers due to its history and culture. You can start exploring the city’s historic missions at the Alamo before heading to other missions at the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park.

Then, take a river barge tour along the famous San Antonio boardwalk before enjoying a meal at one of the many waterfront restaurants. Families will love the variety of rides at Six Flags Fiesta Texas and the animal encounters at SeaWorld & Aquatica San Antonio.

Downtown Cincinnati

According to a WalletHub report, Cincinnati ranks second for the lowest travel costs and the fewest travel problems, making it an attractive choice for many Americans. An excellent starting point is one of the many walking tours dedicated to the history of the city. Families will love visiting Kings Island, the Newport Aquarium, the Cincinnati Zoo, and the Hawke Botanical Garden.

You can also delve into the team’s history at the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum before seeing the team in action. A fun and free activity is to view the public art and ArtWorks murals throughout downtown Sinsi.

Minneapolis ranks as the third lowest travel expense and least travel hassle on WalletHub and offers a fun filled summer destination. For example, in the Mall of America, you can shop until you drop. After that, you can ride the rides at Nickelodeon Universe, an indoor amusement park.

Outside, you can explore the city’s many biking and hiking trails, or visit the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden or the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. If they are in town during your visit, watching Minnesota Twins or Minnesota United FC games is something not to be missed.
