Billie Eilish ‘tried too hard’ to be ‘desirable’ | Entertainment

Billie Eilish thinks she was “trying too hard to be desirable.”

The 20-year-old singer showed off a drastic makeover when she ditched her baggy clothes and dyed her green hair blonde to pose on the cover of British Vogue in a pink silk corset last summer, but now she feels very detached from the pictures. and was horrified by some of the backlash she received.

She reflected in an interview with the Sunday Times magazine: “Whatever you do is wrong and right.

“In baggy clothes, I don’t attract anyone, I feel incredibly unattractive, unsexy and ugly, and people shame you for not being feminine enough.

“Then you put on something more revealing and they’re like, you’re such a fat cow, motherfucker. Celebrities are selling their bodies and wow! What the fuck do you want? It’s a crazy world for women and women in the eyes of the public.

“Looking back at all the promos and stuff we did before the album came out, [in 2021], I, like, don’t know who it is, but it’s not me! I didn’t have time to think. I just decided who I was. I just became that atmosphere. And I don’t know if that was necessarily what I really felt. I just clung to something.

“Honestly, I never feel wanted. What worries me is that I felt so unwanted that I may have tried too hard to be desirable at times. It makes me sad to think about it.”

But the “Ocean Eyes” singer now has much more “firm” self-confidence.

She said: “In the last couple of months, I feel much more confident in who I am. Now I feel different, like I’m wanted. as I want.”

And Billy considers his body an “ugly friend.”

When asked how her relationship with her body is developing, she replied: “Nothing good. My relationship with my body has been truly terrible, terrible ever since I was 11 years old.

“I like that my body belongs to me and that it is with me wherever I go.

“I think of my body as my friend. My ugly friend! It’s complicated. But what are you going to do?”
